Let The Adventure Begin...

The countdown has begun and nerves are getting wild around here. With just 28 days before we leave Washington we have begun to prepare ourselves for the road trip to Texas! But, before we get in to all that mess... Let me introduce ourselves!!

I'm Emily. Currently a stay-at-home mom to two amazing, crazy, spontaneous and angsty girls who could not be more of a blessing and joy to their dad and me! I'm married to an incredible man who I know God created just for me! I've lived in Washington all my life. Evergreen trees, coffee, salt water and rain run through my blood. I'm a true PNW baby!! I've lived in the same town for my whole life as well. Even being in a military community, I've had some of the same friends since I was in kindergarten. God and family are the top two priorities in my life and I'm deeply emotional, to a fault sometimes. I love to cook and food is my passion. If I ever cook for you, you know I like you!! I'm a caregiver to my husband who I'll tell you more about later. I'm an involved parent at my daughters school and (almost) all the teachers and staff know me! I've been a part of PTA and PTO for just about as long as my oldest has been in school. I am the not-so-common product of two people who have fought hard to raise their children, keep their faith and stay married to only each other for more than 40 years now. I have a brother and sister-in-law who have 3 quixotic boys whom I love dearly! Having a close-knit family is something my parents instilled in to us growing up and I am so blessed to have my girls growing up with their cousins!

My husband is our rock and hero. He is a man's man through and through, quick to defend what he knows is right and the three most precious gifts God gave to him. God-fearing, military-supporting, 2nd Amendment believing, stand-up guy who fought hard for our country and lives each day carrying the burden of his fight for our freedom. He is also PNW born and raised, but from the "keep it weird" section (we try not to hold that against him). A much traveled man, he has seen parts of the world that some would love to see, and some that others should never see. The Army has been his life (until the day we met, of course) for his whole life. He is a wonderful daddy to our girls and I could not have imagined the man God created to help me raise the kiddos we have! An animal lover and martial artist, he is a well versed man in a lot of things in life.

My girls... oh my girls. They couldn't be more opposite if they tried and are exactly the same in so many ways. My oldest, a carbon copy of me (in all ways, even the bad), is a natural born leader who is figuring out who she wants to be in life and where she wants to go. She is every once a teenage girl who can still find time to play dolls with her little sister. My youngest is a spit-fire just like her daddy. Willing to jump off the tallest anything and takes risks (be still my heart) at every turn. Her heart is so full of joy and I cannot wait to see what she does with her life, because I know it will be exciting, whatever it is!

Currently, we are preparing to move across the country. We will be driving to our next destination, Texas, and along the way we want to share with friends and family all the exciting experiences we have! So, come along and join us.
